Urbana 2018 - Info Session

Every 3 years, thousands of people from across the world gather in St. Louis, Missouri, to attend Urbana, one of the largest missions conferences in the world, primarily targeted at college/university age students but also geared toward all church leaders. Taken straight from the Urbana website:

Dedicated to calling whole-life, whole-world disciples, Urbana is an eye-opening global missions conference, a sacred space for college and graduate students, faculty, and church leaders to hear God’s call.

RCAC has sent teams to the past several Urbana conferences, and this year, I'm planning to lead another RCAC team to the Urbana 18 conference! This year's conference will again be taking place in St. Louis, from December 27-31, and will be an incredible opportunity to listen to God's missional call, study His Word deeply, and worship passionately, all alongside thousands of other Christians as part of the global church.

Are you interested in attending Urbana 18?

I know that there's plenty of interest and excitement surrounding this conference, but also plenty of questions and hesitation. What do we do at Urbana? Why are we going as a team? What are these "tracks" I hear about? Why does the conference cost so much? Why should I attend Urbana if God can speak to me here in Richmond? Is this just another big event designed to lead us to "spiritual highs"?

These are fantastic questions to ask, and they should be addressed! So we'll be hosting an Urbana 18 Info Session to help address these questions and concerns, to clarify the structure and purpose of Urbana, and to lay out our expectations as a team sent from RCAC.

Maybe you still want to learn more about the conference, or you're 100% committed to flying to St. Louis this December. Either way, my sincerest hope is that you are seeking to wisely and prudently discern God's missional call on your life - a call that is authorized, commanded by, and found in Jesus, as it is written:

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).
